Position Overview

The Automotive Service Porter ensures the service vehicle area is clean, organized, and operates efficiently. This role supports the service department by maintaining vehicles, cleaning, and providing excellent customer service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a neat and orderly service vehicle lot, moving cars as directed.
  • Clean the service department drive, write-up area, and shop.
  • Clean vehicles thoroughly, including interior, exterior, trunks, and glove compartments.
  • Wash service customer vehicles using appropriate cleaning solutions and tools.
  • Clean engines to remove grease and apply special cleaners as needed.
  • Assist technicians in keeping the service area clean and organized.
  • Support property maintenance and enhance overall dealership appearance.
  • Greet customers promptly with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Complete all required training programs.
  • Patrol dealership grounds and follow safety procedures.
  • Park vehicles from service and operate shuttle vehicles as assigned.
  • Dispose of trash and maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Comply with OSHA right-to-know training and company policies.
  • Wear company-approved uniforms and adhere to dress code.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a noisy environment.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and using tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts and potentially hazardous substances.
  • Exposure to exhaust fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles may occur.
Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic, organized, and positive attitude.

Education and Experience

  • No prior retail or automotive experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
