Position Overview

As an Automotive Service Advisor, you will play a key role in scheduling service work, communicating with customers, and promoting additional services. You will ensure excellent customer satisfaction by providing professional and clear service guidance aligned with manufacturer standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) ratings as set by management.
  • Meet standards for hours per customer repair order written.
  • Greet customers promptly in a friendly, professional manner and communicate effectively to understand their vehicle concerns.
  • Test-drive vehicles when necessary for accurate diagnostics.
  • Advise customers on vehicle care and maintenance based on manufacturer recommendations.
  • Inspect vehicles for potential additional repair needs and clearly explain repair instructions.
  • Provide accurate labor and parts estimates, contacting customers for approval when needed.
  • Obtain customer signatures on repair orders and provide copies.
  • Follow up on repair progress and communicate updates to customers.
  • Handle telephone inquiries related to ongoing work and appointments.
  • Compare final invoices to original repair orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Review quality control reports to reduce repeat repairs.
  • Deliver vehicles to customers and address any questions.
  • Maintain a clean work and customer waiting area.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly stand, talk, and hear.
  • Frequent walking and sitting.
  • Exposure to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and comfortable navigating the web.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to overcome objections.
  • Positive attitude and a team player mindset.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
