Position Overview

As an Automotive Service Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service by scheduling service appointments, providing estimates, and selling additional vehicle services. You will work closely with customers and the service department to ensure a smooth and satisfactory service experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly, professionally, and courteously.
  • Communicate with customers to identify their vehicle service needs and concerns.
  • Obtain accurate customer and vehicle information.
  • Test-drive vehicles when necessary to assess service requirements.
  • Explain necessary repairs and recommended services clearly to customers.
  • Generate repair orders and provide accurate labor and parts estimates.
  • Obtain customer approval for all services and payment methods.
  • Coordinate with the service team and dispatch to schedule repairs effectively.
  • Follow up on service progress and update customers on any changes.
  • Deliver vehicles back to customers, answering any questions they may have.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings and encourage repeat business.
  • Keep work and waiting areas clean and organized.
  • Analyze quality control reports to minimize repeat repairs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, talk, and hear regularly throughout the workday.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of up to 10 pounds.
  • Exposure to exhaust fumes and airborne particles.
  • Visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.

Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in automotive service advising or related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to navigate web-based systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Customer-focused approach with ability to overcome objections.
  • Professional personal appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and technical information.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
