Position Overview

As an Automotive Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and purchasing vehicles by demonstrating product features, developing buyer relationships, and closing sales effectively. You will work closely with the Sales Manager to provide accurate pricing and financing information and deliver a seamless customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers on the sales floor to identify their vehicle preferences.
  • Explain vehicle features and operate demonstrations in the showroom and during test drives.
  • Recommend optional equipment and accessories to customers.
  • Research vehicle availability and options to meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager on pricing, financing, and trade-in evaluations.
  • Prepare sales paperwork, credit applications, and related documents accurately.
  • Deliver vehicles while educating customers on features, warranties, and maintenance.
  • Maintain a prospect database and follow up with potential buyers.
  • Stay updated on new products, promotions, and industry trends.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and sales targets.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Regularly required to stand, speak, and listen attentively.
  • Frequent walking and sitting during work hours.
  • Potential exposure to exhaust fumes and airborne particles.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
  • Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Previous experience in sales, hospitality, or customer service preferred.
  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret business information and technical documents.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from customers and management.
  • Problem-solving skills to handle various sales scenarios.
  • Capable of following written, oral, or scheduled instructions accurately.
